Akiko Fujiwara is a Japanese / American bilingual actor based in NYC. She was born in New York, and grew up in Tokyo. While she studied engineering at Keio University in Tokyo, she decided to pursue her long kept dream of becoming an actor and started taking classes at United Performers Studio (UPS Academy). After juggling college work and a 2-year conservatory program, she came back to New York to pursue her MFA in Acting at the Actors Studio Drama School. Since then, she has performed in various productions in both theater and film. Akiko’s special skills include Action and Japanese Sword Fighting, which is a form of performing art called TATE.
Akiko has also been active in creating content. The web series “JapaDori of New York”, which she co-created and acted in along with two other actors, has been selected to five festivals.
